Need to know:

Stacks Pancake Bar are located near Village Cinema in Karingal. They are well known for their range of delicious home style pancakes, but offer much more. They have a substantial breakfast menu (pancake or burger based), sharing platters and main meals.

They’re a large restaurant, with ample room for prams and high chairs. They have a fun “how many pancakes are you” poster in their entry, next to their collection of artwork coloured in by their guests. They have a selection of colouring pages for their guests, as well as plastic tableware. They have trading hours that make it accessible for all families to dine at a time that suits them.

Our latest visit:

I can never say no to crepes or pancakes, therefore Stacks has been on my to do list for sometime now. I hadn’t visited earlier, as I wasn’t aware that they offered more than pancakes. We decided to visit for an early weekend dinner.

On our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and sat in one of their booths. The staff were friendly and we received prompt service. We decided to order a mix of dishes to share. We ordered the kid’s tropical pancake (ham, cheese and pineapple) mainly as a deter for something savoury for my son (who thought it was a dessert), together with a kid’s milkshake. The other dishes were from their sharing menu and included; crispy chicken strips, salt and pepper calamari and chicken quesadillas.

Food arrived promptly and it was well presented. My son still ate most of his crepe after filling up on a milk shake. He nibbled on a little of the other dishes. My daughter also enjoyed something from every dish and stole all the tomatoes from the salad. The showstopper for me was the Tim Tam Smash pancake! It has chocolate pancakes, whipped cream, chocolate ice cream, fresh strawberries, hot chocolate fudge, Tim Tam crumbs and a whole Tim Tam to dunk. It was absolutely delicious! It wasn’t too sickly as you’d expect. The pancake was really fluffy too. I’d definitely love to return and try more of their crepes and pancakes!

What they do well:

– Great options for the kids
– It has pancakes AND crepes
– Lots of savoury options
