Need to know:

Momentum Cafe in Karingal are certainly one of those cafes that are well known the locals. They’re located inside the shopping centre, next to a major retailer. The owners also manage Degani in the same shopping centre. What most visitors may not be aware, is that they’re serving up some delicious food that you wouldn’t expect to come from a venue in it’s location. Secondly, they’re also open for late night trading every Thursday and Friday evenings.

They have a great menu, especially for the little ones and their dishes also suits most tastes. The food is very creative and beautifully presented. They also have a great range of sweets that are baked in house. They can accommodate prams in most areas of the cafe and offer multiple high chairs. They currently are running a dinner promotion with “Buy one get one 50% off.” This is a venue you should pop on your to visit list.

Our latest visit:

I was recommended this cafe by a friend of mine and it was one that I also came across when scrolling through my feed. The food looked vibrant and I just knew I had to visit. We had the opportunity to visit for lunch during the week. They were busy, but there was no issue getting a table. We were warmly welcomed by staff and all of their staff members were friendly and attentive.

I decided to order their Falafel Bowl (Black quinoa, house made falafel, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, olives, hummus, spinach, fetta and pita bread) and their Burrito Bowl (Kafir lime leaf infused rice, Mexican spiced grilled sweet corn, tomato salsa, pinto beans, corn chips, avocado, cajun chicken tenders, lime and chipolte aoili). I knew that the kids would love to try a little bit of everything in these two bowls.

The order arrived promptly and both dishes were beautifully presented. Both kids tried a little bit of each element from the two dishes. Surprisingly, my daughter decided to have a new love for tomatoes and claimed them all. She also absolutely loved the falafel and wouldn’t accept cut up pieces. She had to claim two full balls and have one in each hand. I love how she explores with food. I also thoroughly enjoyed both dishes.

On our exit, my doughnut loving son spotted the doughnuts, so we grabbed a couple to try. The flavours were delicious and decadent. This is definitely one place you should check out!

What they do well:

– Very friendly staff
– Great menu
– Vibrant and creative menu
